The Drivers

TheDrivers&Friends.jpg

Blues Rockers THE DRIVERS are all highly accomplished musicians, with a collective recording history that includes: Cat Stevens, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Edgar Broughton Band, Mike Oldfield, Lewis Taylor, Manfred Manns Earth Band, Jona Lewie and Ace. The band is fronted by JOHNNY DRIVER - a veteran rocker who has been releasing quality music since the 60s.

JOHNNY DRIVER’S first professional success took place as a songwriting member of THE FLIES, a combo based out of Melbourne that had Australian chart hits. THE FLIES were known to land support gigs for some of the biggest 60’s attractions touring down under, including THE ROLLING STONES and ROY ORBINSON. Johnny then put out a number of solo albums under the name CREEPY JOHN THOMAS, an act that has built a dedicated cult following over the years.

During the late 70s Johnny headed to Berlin, where CJT were popular, and started up THE DRIVERS. The band have had some lineup changes over the years but are still going strong. This is must-see gig for Blues-Rock fans!

Vambo

Vambo_02.jpg

Vambo’s inspiration stems back to the hard rock of the 70’s, at the same time they remain contemporary in both songwriting and recording.

Their material is organic, dynamic and overflowing with raw energy and power reflecting the outstanding musicality within the band. Great, original rock music performed by 4 musicians of the highest calibre.

“Vambo are our new find of the weekend. Playing the Hard Rock Rising stage alongside other up and coming artists, they really stood out and feel like a true rock n’ roll band, which you don’t see much these days; particularly at festivals like this. With big hair and shredding guitar solos, they are a great listen, and their stage presence and ability to engage an audience who are just sitting around and relaxing proves their live talent. Ones to watch!” HTF MAGAZINE - ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL

After finishing a tour as Keys player for Lianne La Havas, the bands Singer-songwriter Simon Middleton met Eamonn Dawe (Bass/Guitars) on a previous musical venture and ‘Fortnight In Florida’ was formed, shortly followed by Andrew Gallop on Drums and Lyle Moxsom on Guitars. With 3 singles and a debut EP ‘So Long’ released in 2016, ‘Fortnight In Florida’ made the ‘Glastonbury 2016 Emerging Talent Longlist’ and the ‘Unsigned Guide’s Emerging Acts of 2017’ list having already featured in their Spotlight blog – their tracks ‘Cameo’ and ‘It’s Alright’ both made the ‘Fresh On The Net’ Fresh faves, and enjoyed Radio play on BBC6 Music and Amazing Radio. TAXI JOE

TAXI JOE are a British rock band, founded by lead singer Joe Acres and drummer Louis Morgan. The band were joined by Italian bassist Devid Dell’Aiera after a fateful jamming session in South London. Their sound draws from a range of influences including the likes of Oasis, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin with audiences likening their music to the Arctic Monkeys, the Strokes and T-Rex.

The band are constantly writing new material and self-producing their own music and videos. This has led to global coverage on independent radio stations, blogs and landed them a place on TIDAL’s most listened playlist in Spain. Their latest single, ‘Pain’, attracted the attention of IMAX to be featured on a behind-the-scenes exclusive for the new JJ Abrams movie, ‘Overlord’. Their energetic on-stage chemistry has led them to perform in New York, Italy and all over the UK, most notably supporting the legendary Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac on tour.

Vambo

Ones to watch!” HTF MAGAZINE - ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL https://www.vamboofficial.com/

Jimmy C & The Blues Dragons

JimmyC&TheBluesDragons.jpg

Canadian-born singer & guitarist Jimmy C moved to Britain via Vancouver, San Francisco and Japan. Since then Jimmy and the band have earned a deserved reputation as one of the most entertaining and hard-working bands on the London circuit.

Playing a repertoire which includes blues-classics from artists such as Robert Johnson, T-bone Walker and Albert/Freddie/BB King, as well as blues-inspired-classics from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and Steppenwolf. They freely admit they are not blues purists, but as they point out neither were the blues greats. Their mission is to do what Muddy Waters did and Rufus Thomas did - to entertain and get you dancing!

Jimmy C & The Blues Dragons play sharp snappy blues with a little bit of edge, an element of fun and clearly enjoy what they do and seem able to communicate this to their audience.
